Gardens has been creating
beautiful gardens for private residences in the greater Boston area since
1993. Our team of talented
gardeners, specializing in perennial flower garden design and care, can
enrich your outdoor spaces with a wide variety of styles. We are a small company, dedicated to
providing superior personalized service along with unique design and plant
choices that will set your garden apart from the rest. Our gardens are built
with your lifestyle in mind and with a respect for the natural landscape
using appropriate plants and never adding harmful products to the
environment. We are sensitive to
your needs and visions for your gardens and understand that your outdoor
living spaces should reflect your personal tastes. If you have been
dreaming about adding a cottage or cutting garden, formal borders, shade or
woodland plantings, water features, container gardens, lawn alternative or
any number of specialty or theme gardens, Artful Gardens will work with you
to create the proper gardens to compliment your property. Susan
Strouse, principal designer
and owner, brings to her gardens extensive horticultural knowledge along with
a professional artistic viewpoint acquired from many years of working as a
painter and sculptor. After advanced
studies in landscape design and horticulture, Susan continued her education
by working for several nurseries, accomplished landscape designers and
architects, before opening Artful Gardens for business. ÒGrowing up in a
small rural town, my Dad would take us for long walks in the woods,
identifying flora and fauna as we went. This is when my love and appreciation for nature and the
outdoors began. As a trained artist,
